Botox & Fillers
Botox® and filler injectables are two of the most rewarding cosmetic procedures because they usually provide immediate results – lifting cheeks, adding volume where needed, and diminishing lines and wrinkles. The team at Bopp Dermatology & Facial Plastic Surgery offer the experience and aesthetic skills needed to inject Botox and dermal fillers into the precise location to achieve your desired results. If you’d like to learn more about injectables, call their office in Metairie, Louisiana, or book a consultation online.
What is Botox®?
Botox consists of purified botulinum toxin. When it’s injected in muscles, it blocks nerve signals that make muscles contract. As the muscles relax, the wrinkles caused by the muscles are diminished or eliminated, effectively treating moderate to severe wrinkles and folds.
The types of wrinkles treated by Botox include:
- Crow’s feet
- Forehead furrows
- Frown lines between eyebrows
- Bunny lines at the top of your nose
- Skin bands on your neck
What are muscle relaxers?
Muscle Relaxers are used safely and effectively to erase or dramatically reduce wrinkles.
How do dermal fillers diminish wrinkles?
Dr. Barbara Bopp injects filler under wrinkles and in areas of lost volume i.e. temples, cheeks, under eyes, jawline, lips, and chin. She lifts up the looseness of the skin by adding volume. The volume frequently is added gradually , typically over 2-3 treatments to give a natural appearance of an overall rejuvenated look. Then a maintenance is required depending on your age to maintain your enhancement.
Dr. Barbara Bopp provides the following dermal fillers:
Juvederm is a family of hyaluronic acid fillers that add volume to cheeks, plump lips, and diminish fine lines and wrinkles around your nose and mouth. Hyaluronic acid is naturally made in your body, where it hydrates and adds volume to skin.
Containing micro-particles of calcium hydroxylapatite, the same mineral found in your bones, Radiesse immediately plumps the area under deep lines and wrinkles around your nose and mouth. Over time, it also stimulates collagen production, which strengthens and tightens skin. Hyperdilute radiesse is injected to areas with laxity to improve the overall texture i.e. the skin of the upper arm, around elbow, above the knees and buttocks.
Made from hyaluronic acid, Restylane augments and lifts cheeks, adds volume to lips, and diminishes moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds such as laugh lines, deep frown lines in the forehead, and deep nasolabial folds that run from each side of your nose to the corners of your mouth.
Sculptra is different from other fillers because it doesn’t immediately diminish wrinkles. Instead, it gradually stimulates collagen production. Results appear over time as collagen restores volume and fullness.
Resilient Hyaluronic Acid is the latest advancement in HA filler science. The RHA® Collection of fillers are the first and only resilient HA fillers designed for facial dynamics and formulated to be more like natural HA found in the skin.
